“Each work is a 1-of-1 oil — painted slowly, looked at slowly.”
The studio
A north-light room in Berlin, three easels deep.
The studio is small on purpose. One painting at a time, a slow stretcher on a quiet wall, the morning given to under-painting and the afternoon to the long looking that thins and warms an interior into a place.
Materials are simple — Belgian linen, hand-ground oils, sable rounds, patient varnish. Each canvas takes weeks; some take a season.
